What's the difference between a Personal Trainer and a Fitness Consultant?

Studies show that people looking to improve their fitness and improve their health achieve significantly greater results when using a certified and health oriented professional who has a vested interest in seeing their client achieve their goals.

An effective personal trainer can guide you, motivate you, and educate you. Trainers provide accountability and discipline. A good trainer will also make sure that you don't damage your body when exercising. It is important to note that there is a right way, and a wrong way, too exercise.

As a Fitness Consultant with a background in the medical industry Brett is also able to design programs for corporate entities and help them design fitness facilities to safely meet the needs of their employees as well as incorporate the right kind of classes to offer them. He offers public speaking services for events, schools, and small groups with shared goals on occasion but prefer to work with families who are trying to adopt healthy lifestyles and one on one consultations.

Brett will increase the benefits of exercise through a multi-disciplinary approach. His programs offer the following:

Fitness Assessment
An important part of any responsible training program, a fitness assessment objectively measures your current level of physical fitness. Without an effective fitness assessment, progress cannot be accurately measured. Brett's fitness assessment incorporates many different methods to achieve accurate results.
The Fitness assessment measures:

  • Body fat
  • BMI (Body Mass Index)
  • Physical endurance
  • Muscle strength
  • Blood pressure

Strength Training
I will guide you through a program that will develop strength and increase endurance. I ensure that workouts don't get repetitive or boring. I will work with you to achieve maximum results. We will combine weights, cardio, and nutrition to give you optimum results.

Tracking Results
An important part of the process is tracking results. To maximize your progress, we need to continually monitor and adjust your program. This cannot be done effectively without proper monitoring and ongoing assessments. We can continually tailor your program so that you are getting what you need to achieve your goals.

Nutrition Counseling
Together we will develop a plan for healthy eating. We will determine the vitamins and minerals that are required for your optimum health. I will guide you through the process and help you get through hurdles along the way.

Mind Body Connection Counseling
It's important to not only keep a positive attitude toward your physical training. Just as important is how you feel inside. I will help draw up a plan to relieve stress, have a positive self image, and if need be can help lower anxiety and depression levels based on your unique case.

Field Trips
Training doesn't have to always take place in a gym, home, or office. Just as well if not better is the option to take our sessions out to a park, roller rink, or even to the mountains. Several of my clients even participate with me during my work for Project Angel Heart during which I can still offer my consulting services. If there is ever an event like the Boulder Boulder, Heart Walk, 9 health fair or any other health related event that you are interested in attending or participating in I'm more than happy to set up a "Team Cimmeron Fitness" for the event as well.
